The medical device market in Turkey is valued at over USD 2.5 billion in 2021 and could reach USD 2.6 billion by 2026. It is the second-largest market in Central and Eastern Europe.
About 6000 disposable and medical device companies in Turkey operate in the market. Local Turkish medtech companies manufacture disposables, orthopaedic implants, laboratory reagents, masks and drapes, stents, prosthetics, surgical tools, and hospital furniture. Turkey imports 80% of all medical device needs.
However, Turkey imports robotic surgery equipment, dental equipment, telemedicine systems, advanced imaging equipment, point-of-care devices, pre-screening and diagnostics devices, wound managing devices, surgical devices, and radiation oncology devices.
Medical devices are imported from the US, Germany, China, Malaysia, and Ireland.
