Apart from finished pharmaceutical products, the company also manufactures pharmaceutical intermediates, and active pharmaceutical ingredients.
The company has the approval of regulatory bodies such as the UK MHRA, Health Canada, Australia’s TGA, Japan’s PMDA, South Africa’s SAHPRA, Brazil’s ANVISA and Korea’s MFDS.
The current CEO/Managing Director of Medreich is Pankaj Garg, having resumed office in 2016.
Timeline
The company was formed in India in 1976 by Ramakant Sahu. It is a public, unlisted company.
As the company expanded globally, Medreich started in the UK as a contract manufacturer in 1999. It obtained licenses required to sell its products to the UK clients. They established a UK-MHRA approved Packing Lines and QC testing laboratory in Feltham, London, and also a Warehouse.
Medreich and Adcock Ingram, South Africa began a joint venture partnership in 2007 and established a solid dosage form Manufacturing Facility in Bangalore.
In 2015, Medreich became a subsidiary of the Japanese conglomerate, Meiji Group, a group that have businesses interests in food, nutritional products and pharmaceuticals. Meiji Group has a pharmaceutical arm, Meiji Seika Pharma that manufactures antibiotics, and generics medicines.
Medreich Ltd has many manufacturing sites which include 6 USFDA approved manufacturing facilities in India, USA, and Canada. They manufacture and supply to over 55 countries in Europe, Canada, Australia, Japan, Asia, Africa, GCC countries like Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, UAE, Qatar, Oman, Latin American such as Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, and Chile.
There are six manufacturing facilities in Bangalore and one in Hyderabad, with two fully involved in the production of β-lactam (amoxicillin), and one facility for cephalosporin formulations.

The manufactured dosage forms are capsules, powder for reconstitution in sachets, oral solid dosage forms (modified, controlled and FDC immediate release formulations), liquid syrups, suspensions, semi-solid ointment, emulsion, creams.
