Timeline
The company was started in 1984 as Bliss Chemical and Pharmaceuticals India Ltd. GVS Lab and Bliss Chemical and Pharma merged to form the Bliss GVS Pharma Ltd, with Mr. S. N. Kamath as the Managing Director in 2006.
In 1986, they launched the vaginal contraceptive, “Today”
The suppository and pessaries WHO-GMP approved manufacturing facility was started in 1984. The facility based in Palghar was commissioned in 2010. It obtained EU-GMP approval in 2011.
The manufacturing unit for tablets and dry syrups in Palghar was commissioned in 2007, and was approved by Indian health authorities in 2008.
In 2012, Bliss GVS acquired the manufacturing unit for semi-solid formulations as they foray into the dermatology products sector. Manufacturing units for dry powder Injectables, ampoules, nasal/ear/eye drops were also set up.
The Research and Development Centre was expanded and subsequently approved by the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR), India in 2013.
International market expansion by Bliss GVS led to the setting up of the UK, and the Philippines subsidiaries as they expand into the European and South East Asian markets in 2014. Another manufacturing unit (3rd unit) for oral solid, dry powder was established the same year.
The company launched the super Specialty hepatitis C products in 2015.
