Garden City 2021: Full program of the PSN National Conference

PSN National Conference

The Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria, the body responsible for the welfare of pharmacists in the country is organizing the annual PSN National Conference. The program is scheduled to hold from the 1st day of November to the fifth day of November in PortHarcourt, Rivers State.

This is the 94th annual conference of the association since its formation in 1927. Key dignitaries such as Mr. Odein Ajumogobia, the former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye, Director-General of NAFDAC, and Chief Nyesom Wike, the Governor of Rivers State are expected too.

This year conference is tagged ” Garden City 2021″ and the key theme is Covid-19 Lessons, Broadening and Strengthening the Nigerian Pharmaceutical / Health Sector. Register here to join

There will be many activities and events lined up for the Conference. Activities such as PSN awards:

  • May and Baker Excellence Awards that carries a cash price of N500,000 and also passage allowance for the conference. Only financial members of PSN can apply.
  • Pfizer Professional Service Awards for Community Pharmacists that have distinguished themselves in the profession.
  • Biogenerics Integrity Award 2021 for pharmacists in the public hospital.
  • 4th BASF West Africa – Best Young Female Pharmacist Award 2021.

The Conference will also see the emergence of a new President of the PSN. Pharm. Tanko Ibrahim Ayuba, Prof. Cyril Usifoh, Dr. Lolu Ojo, and Dr. Otakho Daniel Orumwense will battle it out for who will replace Mazi Sam Ohuabunwa as the new president.

Other key positions that will be contested are Deputy Presidents (North and South), Treasurer, National Secretary, Assistant National Secretary, National Publicity Secretary, National Financial Secretary, Editor-in-Chief, Internal Auditor, etc.

The youth body of PSN, YPG will also hold their annual elections to replace the incumbent national chairman and all the positions. Yimika Oguns will make way for any winner of the four candidates vying for national chairmanship. Pharm Toh Hilary, Pharm Ethel Mba, and Pharm Sylvester Adeyemi are aspiring for the position.

The venue of the PSN National Conference remains the Alfred Diete Spiff Civic Center, Moscow Road in Port-Harcourt, Rivers State.
