All the medicines and medical equipment importers in Ethiopia are required to fulfill all the requirement of the EFDA, the health regulatory agency in Ethiopia and obtain the import license before importing into the country. Processed food and pharmaceuticals also require Certificate of Analysis (COA).
The Ethiopian Food and Drag Authority (EFDA) approves, registers and regulates all medicines, medical supplies, and medical equipment. The Ethiopia Pharmaceuticals Supplies Agency (EPSA) is the agency responsible for the public procurement of pharmaceuticals, medical supplies and equipment in Ethiopia.
