The FDA specifies the guideline for registration, licensing and manufacture of pharmaceuticals. The company must follow the GMP(Good Manufacturing Practices) as well as the GDP (Good Distribution Practices)
Most of the pharmaceutical manufacturing companies in Ghana produce generic drugs and few prescription drugs. These include oral tablets, capsules, liquids, powders, topical creams and ointments, intravenous infusions, etc.

Three pharma companies -Dannex, Ayrton, and Starwin Plc, merged to form DASPHARMA. The company is the only pharmaceutical company listed on the Ghana Stock Exchange Listing.
